Community - Cross Cultural Training for Teachers
|
Anna Koren, Managing Director at Interculture believes it is important to give back to the local and global communities. Teachers Across Borders is one of the organisations we are happy to support with our time and expertise. In July 2010 Anna joined a group of teachers who annually visit Siem Reap in Cambodia, as their resident Intercultural Consultant. She worked with a group of Cambodian School Headmasters and the volunteer Teachers Across Borders teachers providing a tailored cross cultural training programme to support their interactions. The idea is that these intercultural training programmes will develop cultural awareness, knowledge and competencies among the Teachers Across Borders teachers who give their time so generously and the Cambodian Headmasters whose cross cultural interactions include working with the Teachers Across Borders and their own studies outside Cambodia. We hope to improve communication among both groups and enhance the process of teaching these dedicated Cambodian teachers, whose class sizes are significant by Australian standards and who earn a salary below the Cambodian poverty line. We would be delighted if you would also support Teachers Across Borders. You can do so by following this link: |
